Leyburn Band can be traced back to the 1840's but, like many bands, its fortunes have come and gone over the years. Its latest incarnation was re-formed in September 2003.

The band consists mainly of new (i.e. since September 2003) brass players. Some of these players could already play other instruments but most were absolute beginners. A few members of the band are seasoned brass players from all over the district. Some of these players are involved with other bands.

Leyburn Band meets every Wednesday evening from 7.00 pm to 9.00pm and Sunday afternoons from 2.30pm to 4.30pm (unless we have a job on Sunday's).
Individual, group tuition and sectional rehearsals are on Tuesday evening from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.
