BANNED !

First cornets carry the tune,

they sparkle and twinkle and shine

E flat soprano hovers above:

in the right hands sounding just fine

Flugel and Rep back it all up;

and strengthen the rest of the cornets

Seconds and thirds are essential;

but occasionally sound like cross hornets

The Horns they are prissy and prim;

solo is usually boss

The insignificant baritone horn

if absent would be a great loss

The Euphs are mellow and wholesome

and occasionally put on a show

The B flat, the E flat and bass trombone

simply wallow about down below

Percussion is useful in keeping the beat

especially when played by a guest

Trombones are majestic and sexy and fun,

fantastic, amazing – the best!

CONGRATULATIONS!!

To four members of the band on achieving their Grade 3 Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music practical examination. They sat the exam at the Richmond Centre in April and all passed with high marks :

Scott Pounder - Euphonium

Caroline Moorhouse - Euphonium

Gilly Knowles - Tenor Horn

Sandy Walker - Tenor Horn

Several members are now studying for the next set of examinations - so good luck to them.
