Leyburn Life Article
Leyburn Band recently managed to purchase several additions to the percussion section of the band – three timpani, a glockenspiel, a bass drum and a gong. These instruments mean that there is a greater depth and definition to the music that the Band is playing. Look out for them at our concerts.
In June the Band is taking part in a competition at Ripon Cathedral on 2nd, an Arts in Richmondshire Concert at Aysgarth Church, 2pm on 9th, the Open Gardens event at Bellerby on 24th, and the Teesdale Band Contest on 1st July.
So far the Band has been very successful in the contests we have entered, so we’re hoping to build on that success at the next two contests. I’ll let you know how we do – fingers crossed! by Gilly Knowles |
